Bittersweet Endorsement?

McCain picks up support of Texas preacher who has some choice words for the Catholic Church:
John McCain proudly touted picking up the support of Texas preacher John Hagee at a town hall meeting this morning in Houston.
But Hagee's endorsement doesn't come free. He's said some derogatory things about Catholicism in the past.
So naturally William Donahue, outspoken head of the conservative Catholic League issued a scathing press release today, calling on McCain to disavow Hagee's backing.
Donahue notes Hagee has called the Catholic church "‘The Great Whore,’ an ‘apostate church,’ the ‘anti-Christ,’ and a ‘false cult system.’

Sounds like the mask is off. A lot of conservative Catholics need to realize what a nest of vipers they've bedded down with in the name of "pro-life" It's not just Hagee, but Robertson, Fallwell, and many evangelical colleges preach and teach anti-Catholicism.
Not only have the Republicans not done anything about the "pro-life" issues that they tout in their political campaigns, which makes them hypocrites who are merely using this issue to sucker in voters.
They then turn their backs on the children they claim to value, once those kids are born, as well as turning their backs on the poor, the elderly and the disabled. This is very much against the teachings of Christ and the Church which teaches social responsibility. A teaching which is much more all encompassing than the phony "pro-life" agenda of the Republican party.
As if lying to start a very destructive war, which ha murdered thousands is "pro-life" in any manner. Or ignoring workers rights to a decent living, and a safe workplace, and human beings' rights to a clean environment and health and enough food to eat, all of which go against Republican philosophies.
The extreme right-wing evangelicals have lied, and bad mouthed the Catholic Church for years. They and the Republican party have only kept their anti-Catholicism quiet in the last decade in order to advance their own agendas of domination.
Witness the discussion that we had on this blog about the "Crusade for Christ" evangelicals who are talking about using brainwashed GIs as "government paid missionaries".
These people are corrupt, scary, hypocrites.

Before anyone gets me wrong, I am talking about only the extreme right-wing evangelicals.
There are evangelicals, as well as others, who are fed up with these right-wing hypocrites.

This makes me sick and MCcain should reject this kind of support. The race baiting or what ever you care to call this that is going on shows me how sick the right has gotten. Bush lite(John MCain) talks about honor, but All this shows me he is a lump of shit.

Butte, you've got it right. Also, the poor idiots that voted for them just because of the pro-life issue will never actually do anything because one would need to set up social programs to protect the health of the children they will force to be born. Every child would need to be guarenteed pre-natal and post-natal care at a minimum. The greedy republicans would never support helping anyone, not even a fetus in the womb. I think we should challenge them, say O.K. we will support pro-life but only under the following circumstances
1. Free condoms in High Schools
2. Free pre-natal and post-natal care to all girls that get pregnant who are poor and have no
insurance.
4. Free hospital services for poor girls and women who have no insurance.
3. A federal child care system, to support the mother, who is usually a child, while she trys to make minimum wage.
Then what could they say. Their true colors would have to show, because they are inhumane and wouldn't give a hungry baby a free bottle of formula, once it was born.
