If I were voting today, I would vote for John Edwards. I am sick of 'politicians', and hope that John Edwards years in, and then out of office have made him more in tune with the people.

But as I have said over and over, there is not one single Democrat I will not work my tail off for.

Also will work to knock our last New England Republican Representative , Chris Shays out on his butt, and work to replace others like Susan Collins in ME, Sununu, McConnell, etc.

Hello Mike. My first choice is Sen. Biden (D-DE) because of his real experience in international affairs. My second choice is former Sen. Edwards (D-NC) for electability and his populist message. If there was such a thing as a third choice in IA, that would be Sen. Obama (D-IL) for his populist campaign however, the 50-state strategy would not work for Sen. Obama for the obvious reason, IMHO. VA and NC are in play for everyone except Sen. Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Obama again, IMHO.

He is a man of and for the people.
He is pro labor.
The economists are backing him.
His healthcare plan is second only to Kucinich.
He is anti-Iraq war and promises to pull the troops out w/o equivocating.

As a life-long Democrat, I and many others here in Nebraska have to face the hard fact of possibly going to a Republican candidate. I'm sure Iowa has a similar problem with our issues. We have large beef packing in our state, illegals are a huge problem. The Republicans seem much more likely to tackel this issue and get a fence built. This I can not say for the Democratic candidates. Hilory's ideas on Health care are just too much towards 'let the government take care of you'. Just too much government involvement. Russ

I'm for Hillary all the way.

I was amazed (and appalled) at the reaction of this country to a smart, savvy woman helping her husband when he was president. Considering she was one of the top 100 trial lawyers in America, among her other accomplishments, I would have considered Bill to be pretty stupid to ignore this valuable asset in his own family. He was not stupid, but when he did let her help, the conservatives screamed bloody murder and, apparently, judging by the number of bogus email spams I've seen about her, set out on a vendetta against her.

I'm hoping more people will visit Snopes and Hoaxbusters to find out the truth about Hillary. If they did, she would be a shoo-in as president.

John Edwards is absolutely the best candidate to uphold the ideals of the Democratic Party. He is the candidate who offers a truly new approach and understands that the failed politics of compromise doesn't work. He's the only candidate this cycle who can deliver a speech as compelling as Howard's "What I Want to Know" speech in 2003:

"There are people and corporations and powerful interests in Washington and all over this country who think their position in power on the top of the heap is inevitable and unchangeable.

"What I know is that when you rise up to take this country back for the middle class, you will be unstoppable."

Change and hope aren't slogans for John Edwards. They are catalysts.

As for signing the petition, I'll pass. I'm voting for the person I want to vote for in the primaries. In the general, I'll be voting against what I don't want, which is another Republican president. I don't need to sign a petition for that.

Hi, Michael.

I'm pulling for all those distruntled Independents coming to caucus on our side instead of choosing any Republican candidate. Once we lure them in with our fine slate of hopefuls, why would they ever go back to the Spam being offered on the other side?

I'm for Edwards and a populist movement that would give us a real change...back to our FDR roots. If he wins Iowa, all those desgruntled Reagan Republicans will take notice and realize that the Party they used to look up to is back again.

But I'll support whomever wins. No need to pledge what is freely given without hesitation.

Folks let us be wise when we go to the polls to vote or go to caucus.

Who has the most experience?
Which one has traveled the glob?
Which one has done Government business by themself?
Who helped to form a peace treaty for Irland?
Who has an advisor that has been President of the USA?
WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT LIKE THAT, IT IS CLEAR WHO SHOULD BE PRESIDENT?

Wouldn't Senator Chris Dodd not be the perfect VP for any presidential candidate? He's done nothing but shine in the debates...and on the Senate floor of late.

Has any of his comtemporaies laid it on the line for our Constitution the way he has? It's called statemenship and patriotism.

He's just so reliable, steady, and sincere. This time more than ever, I think voters are looking for a ticket that they can trust without any qualms...along with a real change in the direction this country as been going under with the Republicans.

How could anyone not trust this man? If this nation was threated again, is there anyone in America who wouldn't feel better just knowing he was a heartbeat away from securing our future?

Dependability. We can't just sell it. We have to provide it to voters in a form they can accept.

Nader isn't running; he's supporting Edwards. What other third party candidate/party are you prepared to vote for this time around?

Ronald Reagan gave amnesty to foreign workers and Republican businessmen have been hiring them ever since as they cross the border illegally. Have you ever known anyone who couldn't find a way to climb any fence when they ares still being offered a job on the other side?

If you lost your medical coverage tomorrow, you could afford or get a new carrier even though you have a pre-existing condition? Just how fast do you think it would take for you to lose your home and your life's savings if you had a serious accident or developed a life-threatening disease without medical insurance?

Republican politicians, who have great medical insurance paid by your tax dollars, have never once addressed this issue. Not once. They don't want to get involved when things go bad for "other people"....that's you. You are other people.

You seem to have forgotten a lot of Republican policies.

I would vote for Hillary Clinton. She is intelligent, compassionate and courageous. She's got the good plans. She and Richardson are the two candidates who truly support the LGBT community. Go Hillary!

Sorry granny, but there seems to be a lot of rethuglican red showing thru the gap in your sheep's clothing. We've heard too many stories like your's to fall for your feeble attempt at deception. If anyone around here says they're going to abandon the democratic ticket if their 'favorite' doesn't get the nomination, they aren't a democrat and are welcome to go vote where they belong.

I have my favorite but am more than willing to vote for whomever we put up. To do otherwise is to accept what has become of our country over these last eight years and to be willing to live with more of the same. That such an event may actually come to pass, i have no worries. Our next administration will be democratic, no doubt about it!

He (Bush, Republican) has NO intention of taking this cheap labor away from his Corporate rangers and donators.

Republicans have NO plans whatsoever to stop illegals, round them up, nor penalize corporations who use them.

So Don't go pining any hopes that Republicans will take care of your illegal fears.

And as for health care, if Republicans had met Hillary even half way in 1992 on her health care plan, just think where this would all be today.

I lost my job and my health insurance, too, and Hillary is my Senator. She hasn't been able to do anything about the employment situation in upstate NY. I don't hold that against her, but let's be realistic about what any of these candidates can do.

John Edwards. Followed by Dodd and Kucinich.

But I'll support any of the candidates who ends up as the Democratic nominee...except for Senator Clinton. If she's on the ticket, I'll write in someone else or find a third party to vote for.

I'm sorry, but I'm sure that she'd be the George W. Bush of the Democratic Party - she'd destroy us. I lowered myself to voting for a DINO once (Joe Lieberman in 2000), and I just can't bring myself to do it again.

We need a great leader. Someone who will not only undo all the terrible damage done by the current lawless gang of thugs, but who can simultaneously deal with a more dire set of problems than our nation - our world - has ever seen before. We need someone who can not only repair our broken democracy, but who can make the improvements necessary to ensure that we will never again become so corrupted.

Ms. Clinton is simply not that leader.
