Bush Threatens Veto Against Bill That Funds District of Columbia--Because Bill No Longer Discriminates Against Gay Families

According to a statement on the White House website, President Bush is threatening to veto a bill which funds the District of Columbia because Democrats removed language that discriminated against same-sex couples. Pam writes:
How desperate is this man to gain a few approval points (with his Base abandoning him over immigration and Iraq)? The appropriate bill for the District of Columbia faces Dear Leader's pen because it contains a measure that supports a domestic partner registry that allows basic rights married couples take for granted.

Bush really needs to be checked out by a team of psychiatrists as part of the impeachment proceedings.
He is clearly out of touch with any semblance of reality.

Well, when you're as unpopular as GW you have to do anything to keep the friends you still have. Unfortunately those friends are the religious right and illiterates who only know about things like gay-bashing, beer drinking, and NASCAR.
And they say Neanderthals are extinct! Nope, they are alive and well and remain loyal to their fuhrer.

I don't know about gay bashing, never done it, but probably would if they flaunted their crap around me. Beer Drinking on a cold one during a hot day, nothing better. NASCAR, one of my favorite sports on TV. Alan and Butte, you sound like my type of dudes. Gays, as long as they don't push their BS on me, then we will get along. They push it on me, they WILL get a fish full of knuckles. You want to get on your knees with em, be my guest. I ain't religious either. I will tell you, I don't like em. I do have that right, unless the Dems want to take my personal rights away. I will tell that to em in their face too. Not hide behind a political motivated bunch of nerds such as yourselves. Just because someone has an opinion and he is not a Dem, then he is wrong regardless. sounds like a bunch of children. Atleast I can speak my mind and you know where you stand with me.
