Honoring the Life and Career of U.S. Representative Father Robert F. Drinan

Resolution Honoring the Life and Career of U.S. Representative Father Robert F. Drinan
WHEREAS, Father Robert F. Drinan was a leader in the fight for social, economic, and racial justice; and
WHEREAS, Father Robert F. Drinan was elected a member of the United States Congress as Representative from Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District and served with distinction from 1971- 1981; and
WHEREAS, Father Robert F. Drinan had a distinguished career as a Catholic priest as well as a public servant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; and
WHEREAS, Father Robert F. Drinan served as an extraordinary educator in multiple positions at Boston College Law School including dean and more recently as Professor at Georgetown University Law School; and
WHEREAS, Father Robert F. Drinan was a passionate and effective voice for peace and human rights in Southeast Asia and throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, on January 28, 2007, Father Robert F. Drinan passed away, after a lifetime of service to God and country;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Democratic National Committee commemorates the service of U.S. Representative Father Robert F. Drinan who, by holding to principle and never retreating from what he thought was right, offered unfaltering service to his fellow Americans throughout his life and career.
