I really do NOT want to comment on this post. I want to make a comment on the stupidity of J F Kerry, who neither knows when to speak or what to say, whether it is a joke or not. First he should fire the staff member who wrote that stupid comment, that was open for ridicule and misinterpertation now matter if he had NOT muffed the wording.
Kerry stay off the stage, now and in 2008. Again you prove that you are inept and have poor judgment.
Your stupidity has now allowed the Republicans to get away from the real issues of the Iraq war and healthcare less than a week from the election. You ought to know that the American People are fickle and have the memory of a fly, not very long at all.
Democrats, from Howard Dean, Nancy Pelossi and Harry Reid, Barak Obama, Hillory Clinton, Al Gore & Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy, you should be RALLYING right NOW to bring the Iraq War back to center stage. NOT one of the leading Dems has DONE that and this is why Karl Rove, Dumb Bush and Cheney can win. Iraq's PM just showed and told Americans to get out of BAGHDAD and sided with the Shitte Cleric.....you just let that PASS. If the PM can put us out and make us take down barricades, then BRING tht TROOPS HOME.
HERE WE GO AGAIN: 'Just Push the Yellow Button and Vote as Many Times as You Want' on Sequoia Touch-Screen Voting Machines!
New Vulnerability Discovered on Touch-Screen Systems Made by One of Country's Largest Voting Machine Companies Will Affect Elections in Dozens of States!
California's Secretary of State Bruce McPherson Denies Knowledge of Vulnerability Well After His Office Had Been Notified…
"Just push the yellow button and you can vote as many times as you want," Tom Courbat, an Election Integrity advocate from Riverside County, California informed The BRAD BLOG tonight. Not that we're in any mood to report more such stories, but this seems to be a big one. A very big one.
It seems there's a little yellow button on the back of every touch-screen computer made by Sequoia Voting Systems, that allows any voter, or poll worker, or precinct inspector to set the system into "Manual Mode" allowing them to cast as many votes as they want.
Concerns about the flaw were first reported some thirty days ago to California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson's office by Ron Watt, a Tehama County, CA precinct inspector who has been a poll worker in the county for the last fifteen years. And yet, as recently as a radio interview last Tuesday, McPherson — who has been crowing about having the country's most stringent security process for voting systems — denied he was aware of any security issues with Sequoia systems.
"They didn't care about it," Watt told us tonight about his "late September or early October" discussion with McPherson's voting systems chief Bruce McDannold. "He said he didn't think it was an important issue. He said I don't believe this is really a vulnerability."
Watt and Courbat disagreed and placed another phone call to the SoS' office on Friday after Watt received a copy of Sequoia's "Poll Workers Guide, Booklet #5: Troubleshooting" via a public records request in Tehama. On pages 19 through 22 of the booklet — which is marked as "Confidential and Proprietary" — he confirmed the simple manual override to the system. He'd learned about it years earlier and the new manuals confirmed that button was still in place. Even in the latest models of the Sequoia Edge voting systems (both models 1 and 2).
What the hell is wrong with the DNC?
The day after kerry screwed up, the DNC should have been running this God Damn TV clip:
"As you know, you go to war with the Army you have. They're not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time." -- Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, in a town hall meeting with soldiers at Camp Buehring in Kuwait, Dec. 8. 2004.
John Kerry may or may not have insulted the troop’s intelligence, but Rumsfeld DID insult their performance!
Why is the DNC nothing but a bunch of stupid pussies?
Gawd, these pictures just make my stomach turn!
I've talked to a lot of people who decided to not vote for Ford after his last, albeit not his only, anti-gay faux pas, but the DNC is so damn nuts that it keeps giving money hand over fist to candidates like him and Kerry that stick their foot so far down their throat that we see it coming out their butts.
If he loses, will you guys learn FINALLY that it's not necessary to be a bigoted jerk to win in the South?
HERE IS A PLAN FOR IRAQ
1. IMPLEMENT "STAND UP STAND DOWN"
CHANGE THE SLOGAN TO ACTION
2. SIMPLY DETERMINE HOW MANY IRAQIS NEED TO BE TRAINED TO TAKE OVER SECURITY AND TRAIN AND EQUIP THEM.
3. MAINTAIN 50-60,000 TROOPS TO FIGHT THE TERRORISTS WHO ARE THE REAL ENEMIES OF EVERY ONE.
4. ALL MILITIAS MUST BE DISMANTLED(WE CAN NOT HAVE RIVAL PARA-MILITARY FORCES EVERY WHERE,
IF POSSIBLE INTERGRATE THEM INTO THE IRAQI ARMY.)
5. REMOVE U.S. TROOPS FROM THE STREETS OF IRAQ.
6. ALL PARTIES SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN AN ARAB LEAGUE SPONSORED RECONCILIATION SUMMIT WHERE THEY WILL AGREE TO HAVE A UNITY GOVT OR A PARTITION.
HERE IS THE RESULT OF STAY THE COURSE:
# OF IRAQI TROOPS TO STAND UP = 310,000
# OF U.S. TROOPS TO STAND DOWN = 0
# OF U.S. TROOPS KILLED IN OCT = 105
# OF U.S. TROOPS KILLED IN NOV = 11+
# OF U.S. TROOPS KILLED = 2,820+
# OF U.S. TROOPS WOUNDED = 20,000+
Insulting Our Troops, and Our Intelligence

George Bush, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld think you’re stupid. Yes, they do.
They think they can take a mangled quip about President Bush and Iraq by John Kerry — a man who is not even running for office but who, unlike Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney, never ran away from combat service — and get you to vote against all Democrats in this election.
Every time you hear Mr. Bush or Mr. Cheney lash out against Mr. Kerry, I hope you will say to yourself, “They must think I’m stupid.” Because they surely do.
They think that they can get you to overlook all of the Bush team’s real and deadly insults to the U.S. military over the past six years by hyping and exaggerating Mr. Kerry’s mangled gibe at the president.
What could possibly be more injurious and insulting to the U.S. military than to send it into combat in Iraq without enough men — to launch an invasion of a foreign country not by the Powell Doctrine of overwhelming force, but by the Rumsfeld Doctrine of just enough troops to lose? What could be a bigger insult than that?

I would advise the voting officials in Tennessee to take the proper safeguards to make sure that out canidates (Democrats) benefit from their victories, when the elections are over. The Republicians have established a trend of stealing elections (particularly the big ones).
I am very curious as to why Gore has not been campaigning for Harold Ford?
The DNC ought to be running all of administrations gaffes. If the people of this country want more of the same and are satisfied with the GOP, then they are going to vote republican. Nobody should have to convince anyone to vote demoractic. If they want peace, prosperity, sound foreign policy, etc., they should vote democratic. I grieve for my country because people are so easily influenced by hyperbole and fluff!

It really to bad that in 2006 people in the south are still bigots about black people. How stupid!! If some people in the USA had there way. They would shoot all black people. And along with blacks, they would shoot gays and anybody who does like wars. Its about time the people in the USA grow up and stop hating people because the color of there skin is not white or that do not want to kill because someone does not believe what they do. This country has a long way to go when it comes to truly loving people like Jesus has told us to do.

Because Kos it right! Many democrats will be making a statement that we do not have to except a person just because he has a D behind his name, that we can choose on the issues he stands for and the fact that he thinks it is wonderful to be a Blue Dog Democrat.
Getting ROBO Calls?
RNCC May Face Fines For Violating "Do Not Call" Registry Rules..
This is to all those who have made or will make comments about Ford Jr. and other conservative Southern Democrats being wastes of money and time for the Party...
The Democratic Party progressed this country during the 20th century by controlling the House for 40 years, winning a majority of Presidential elections (the majority of them conservative Southerners), and controlling the Senate with a larger average majority than that other party. Civil Rights, economic equality, The Great Society... all accomplished WITH THE VOTES, POWER, AND INFLUENCE OF SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS. Tennessee, in particular, held great power in the Democratic Party - Al Gore Sr., Estes Kefauver, Jim Sasser, Cordell Hull, to name a few.
Ever since you turned your nose skyward in regard to the Solid South, you have steadily lost ground, and, starting with Nixon's Southern Strategy, that other party has quickly gained it. I remember as a child my Grandfather and other Solid Southerners refering to certain people in my hometown as "known republicans", people TO BE FEARED. On a political level, who cares if my Grandfather was somewhat racist and VERY socially conservative? He voted the Party line, and with his and other Southerners' votes, the Democratic Party progressed this country toward a more economically and socially equal footing.
The vast majority of gains that we will make in this election are NOT in the South. We had and still have a chance to make gains in the South only by putting up candidates that fit the demographics. If you don't want to fit the demographics, then you are basically saying to conservatives, "Thank you but no, we'd rather not take your votes." This is LUDICROUS! It is not up to the Party to change hearts and minds, its up to the candidates and the Party's members on a personal level to do that. The Party exists simply to raise and distribute funds, vet good candidates, and to get its members to the polls. When you come out to work for the Party, please check your moral equivilancy tests at the door!
Thanks,

Where's the big push???
The DNC should have gone for the throat, and administered a coup de gras on the Republicans, instead they're sitting on their tushies whilst the Republicans are going hammer and tongs on a get out the vote campaign.
Come on guys, is this any way to win an election???
It amazes me, that six years of deficit spending, almost 9 trillion national debt, and a 200 plus billion deficit this year, is a bragging point for the republicans. The Bush, so called "economic stimulus package" giving 52 % of the tax cuts to the wealthiest individuals and corporations, is doing very little to create good jobs here in the US, while costing us a fortune (in the 4-6 TRILLION dollar range) over the duration of the tax cuts. As a matter of fact, US investment by corporations receiving the greatest tax breaks, is actually down about 20%. IBM for example, while creating 4,000 new jobs in India, is actually laying off 400 US engineers, and that's just one example among many! How about the five Walton's (Wal-Mart) getting 996 million in tax cuts, when they have a net worth of over 90 billion combined, and more money then they will ever know what to do with, or be able to spend. How many jobs do you think they are creating? What a sad joke! The Bush/Republican trickle down tax cuts, are nothing more then a rich get richer quicker scheme! A Nine Trillion national debt = 30 grand for every man woman and child in this country, and that debt, and the 300 billion plus in annual interest payments every year, is crippling our country, and ability to enact REAL pro growth economic policies, and destroying our ability to invest here in the US. We desperately need to modify the tax cuts, to focus on the middle class, small business and corporations who actually create US jobs. We need to re do, the dividends and capital gains cuts, and create a rate that goes from 15% and increases gradually based on the gain, so that small/middle class investors receive the lowest rate, but the very wealthy pay more. You can still give the rich a tax cut, but you don't have to give someone worth 16 billion, a 250 million dollar cut. Increase the rate to 25% for the top 1 %, for example and give them a 75 million dollar tax cut instead. Still not bad compared to what they were paying. We need to return to the concept of balanced budgets and creating surpluses. If the FED brings in 2.4 trillion in revenues per year, then we need to spend less then 2.2 trillion, and apply the surplus to paying off our national debt, eventually repay the 2 Trillion owed to Social Security, and pay off the 1 Trillion we owe China, so they don't have a stranglehold on us! Eventually, running surpluses we can eliminate the 300 billion in annual interest payments, and actually have money to invest in education and health care. We should also be investing at least 10 billion dollars per year, for the next few years, in low interest government loans, to build biodiesel plants, infrastructure and other alternative fuel and power sources. "We are addicted to oil" is a joke! Bush, Cheney, Lee Raymond and the Republican party may be addicted to oil, but I'm not. We may like and need to drive, but if we had cleaner, cheaper, home grown alternatives, we'd jump on them in a heartbeat, and we'd also create a bunch of new, good paying jobs. We need major changes in this country, and intelligent leadership with real progressive ideas, and people who can actually relate to average Americans, and understand how to put forth policies, that benefit the needs of the many, not just the greed of the few! I'm a progressive centrist Democrat, and it is my hope, that we all wake up, and stop electing and re electing, people who have short sighted, closed minded, tunnel visioned views, and start electing people who care about the long term prosperity of this country, and our people! Even Donald Trump said recently on Larry King Live " The rich are getting richer, but America is getting poorer"

Bush and the the Republican party, taking full advantage of John Kerry's screw up, is a pile of garbage and makes me sick! Where is all of the outrage over Bush's comment, the Iraq war will be "comma" in the history books! I thought the Iraq war was the "central front in the war on terror" We have 2,800 plus dead, thousands more wounded, and many crippled for life, and Bush thinks they are nothing but commas! Bush thinks this amazing sacrifice, by the heroic, men and women of our armed forces, will be nothing more then a comma in the history books? He has the audacity to say that John Kerry owes our military an apology!! If anyone should apologize, it should be Bush himself, for both his degrading comment, and his complete incompetence, related to the prosecution of this war, and the lack of support, and adequate protection of our troops. Many have been crippled, and killed because he is an incompetent, Vietnam war dogging, unqualified commander in chief. From not securing ammo and weapons facilities at the beginning of the war, to inferior, and lack of proper helmets, and body armor, now 500,000 unaccounted for weapons, not enough troops, not shutting down the Iran and Syrian borders, and ignoring Generals on the ground. Need I say more. I've had enough of this garbage, and hopefully major change is coming on Tuesday November 7th.

I think it was wrong of Hillary Clinton not to be supportive of John Kerry and his blunder. Obviously, Mrs. Clinton should have thought that out and said something like "John Kerry would be the last one to make fun of our troops, he did two stints in Viet Nam." But instead she made herself look good, obviously for a future run.
No, Hillary didn't make herself look good. Her actions showed her for the self-seeking opportunist that she is.
I think that it is great that we have a Democrat running in Tennessee for the U.S. Senate, and that he has a good chance of winning!
I agree with SamRayburn that some Democrats should stop turning up their noses at the idea of Southern Democrats! Sam is right to say that it is because of states that are in the south, that the Democratic Party has gotten as far as it has today. In the last 40 years, Democrats have only won the Presidency twice, and both of those Presidents came from southern states. Personally, I think that Al Gore (from Tennessee)truly won the Presidency in 2000! If he had taken office then, he would have been the third!
During that same time, (last 40 years) all of the northeastern liberal candidates that the Democrats have put up, have lost the General Election! So, it is obvious that it is hard for a liberal Democrat from the northeast (or west coast) to win the Presidency! The last liberal Democrat from the northeast to win the Presidency was John F. Kennedy, and he was not even as liberal as some of those liberal candidates that we put up in the late 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and in 2004! He was really more of a moderate liberal instead of a far-left liberal.
I think that having canidates from the south, mid-west, and mountain states that are considered more moderate, is one of the main reasons that the Democrats have a good chance of taking back at least one chamber of Congress on Nov. 7th! I don't think that having ultra-liberals running in the south, mid-west, or mountain states would have gotten us to where we are now. So, let's no knock having moderate southerners, mid-westerners, and mountain states people taking a part in our party! I am from South Carolina, and I am glad to see that the National Democratic Party (under Howard Dean) is taking the south seriously, finally, after negleting us for so long!
I agree Chasemonster, that Ned Lamont will probably lose the Senate race up in Conneticutt. At first, I thought that Ned Lamont was going to win this thing, but now, it seems less likely. Unfortunetly, it looks like Joseph I. Lieberman will be able to retain his seat in the Senate!
I also agree with you Chasemonster, that it would probably be better for people to give their hard-earned money to the candidates (such as Harold Ford, Jr.) that have a better chance at winning!
Most of the seats that we stand a chance of picking up is in the south, mid-west, and mountain states. I know that we have a chance to pick up a few in the northeast and west coast, but not as much as the 3 other regions.
We've got to get washington back under control and this is where it starts!! NOW!!! We Are Going To Win This Election!!!
